DORIS HARPERS, painter and painting teacher, was born in Germany and is living in Italy since more then thirty years.
Her artistic studies are based on Rudolf Steiner's indications for a new artistic approach. She studied this method for three years at the Alanus Accademy in Germany with Wilfried Ogilvie and for a further two years at the school for art therapy "De Wervel" with Eva Mees in the Netherlands.
From this time she has been seeking for the relationship between the arts and often paints ispired by poems or music. Therefore her exibitions are often accompanied by concert musicians and recitations.
Doris Harpers has exibited and given painting workshops in various European countries (as well as in Mexico and Egypt).
She has often collaborated in international conferences organized by the Art Section of the Goetheanum (Dornach, Switzerland) or by IDRIART (Istitute for the Development of Intercultural Relations through the Arts).
She teaches painting and drawing at the Free Accademy "Aldo Bargero" in Oriago (Venice) in its Pedagogical Seminar and in the Painting School "Tiziano", of which she is the founder. She has developed a special study method for her painting students. Her ex-students are now teaching in various parts of Italy and Croatia, where she also had a painting school for seven years.
She has organized several artist conferences on regional, national and international leval.
